lead by Rub & Roll lead artist / printmaker Sarah Garvey

Venue: Cardiff MADE gallery

Description : come and enjoy working in our Rub & Roll project  print studio, learning this quick and inexpensive process to expand your visual vocabulary.

Using cardboard as a plate, you will carve into the surface to create areas of tone.

We will use Drypoint-  a linear intaglio technique to incorporate line, with a needle tool.

Introducing Carborundum grit as a way of building tone and texture, this will be mixed with an adhesive and painted onto the plate to create further texture and tone.

Carved, drypoint and carborundum marks will be printed with etching technique.

Offset techniques will be demonstrated to show how to create greyboard masking/stencil elements.
